Eileen Louise Banks Lenz, age 76, of Riverview, Michigan, passed away on October 30th, 2022, peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born to the late Leonard and Elizabeth (Huva) Banks on October 7, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio. Eileen graduated from Woodward High School and attended the University of Toledo. She was married to Charles Lenz in 1969, and together they moved to Michigan, ultimately settling in Riverview to raise their family.

She is survived by her husband Charles, her two children and their spouses, Robert Lenz (Kristin Lenz) and Bethany Gilbert (Ed Gilbert). She is also survived by four grandchildren: Maya Lenz and Luke, Cole, and Paige Gilbert.

Eileen was a kind and generous caregiver to her family, friends, and community. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, from everyday visits to school activities, watching Disney movies, baking treats, and outings such as strawberry picking and hunting for treasures at garage sales. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her card club, and she often crafted special gifts for friends and family. Attending church services and volunteering was important to her. At Hope Lutheran Church, she served on the Hospitality Committee and managed the Cradle Roll which provided support to new parents and their children in the church. She also appreciated traveling, and memorable trips included Germany, Austria, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Visitation will be held on November 3rd from 2-8pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, Michigan. The funeral service will take place on November 4th at 10:00am at Hope Lutheran Church, 3640 Madison St., Dearborn, gathering from 9:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
