Eileen Yvonne Scharfenaker (nee Miskall), age 97, originally of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away July 14, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late William Joseph Scharfenaker for 25+ wonderful years.
Proud mother of Cynthia (the late Jim Gehle and Larry Slusher), Mark (Sarah), Curtis, Keith, and Karen (Mark) Hartstein.
Caring grandmother of Kyle, Claire, Molly, Ellis, Ana, David, Hannah, and Emily, and great-grandmother of 5.
Dear sister of Diane (Paul) Shepard.
Loving aunt of Annalise and William.

Yvonne was a woman with many facets to her life. She enjoyed pouring over old Western and mystery novels and boasted a well-tended bookshelf. Her reading waned as she got older and entered her new phase of life: motherhood. Her hands were kept full with 5 energetic munchkins. In her down time, she would do crosswords and pick up a beloved book when she could.

Yvonne kept active with other neighborhood families and their children, too. She played on lady's leagues with them for golfing and bowling. When the mood for music struck, she would tap a toe to the old crooners and big band tunes. She will be remembered for her kindness and sense of humor. Yvonne was a spirited jokester and could always make someone laugh.

Services for Eileen will be held privately. Future private inurnment at Mt. Kelly Cemetery.
