Born July 30, 1922, to Hilma (Isojoki) Nelson and Frank Oja.  Entered into rest on April 9, 2020, at her home in Henry Ford Village where she lived for the last 26 years.  Age 97.  Beloved wife of the late John Howard Mills I for 55 years.  They were married November 16, 1940.  Emilie was a life-member of the Order of Eastern Stars.  She worked at Salvation Army as a social worker and bookkeeper, retired from the American Red Cross as an administrative assistant.  She was also a bookkeeper for the Huron Valley Girl Scout Council and a tax preparer for H&R Block.  She enjoyed volunteering for many organizations including ringing the bell at the holiday time for Salvation Army.  Emilie's passion was music.  She was a trained opera singer.  She would often say that music is God's gift to us.  She always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart.
