Emily L. Opincar

Passed away on July 21, 2018.  Although she was 101 years old, her passing was unexpected.  She was a strong, clear-minded, amazing woman up until her death.  As a result of her long career with American Airlines, she told many interesting stories about her travels and all of the interesting people she met.  Famous, influential and ordinary, she treated everyone the same at her job and throughout her life.

Emily cared deeply about all of her friends and never had a bad word to say to or about anyone.  Her love for her friends was equally matched by her love for animals.  She was involved with the Dearborn Animal Shelter  for many years; donating her money, as well as food, to help the animals.  Her daily routine at her home was to feed the birds and squirrels and take care of her devoted companion "Pretty Boy", her big, beautiful white cat who will miss her dearly.  Her husband, George, predeceased her and she will be deeply missed by all who loved and admired her.

Visitation will be held at St. Kateri Catholic Church, 16101 Rotunda, Dearborn, MI 48120 on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the Mass at 12:00 noon.  Interment to be conducted at St. Hedwig Cemetery.  www.howepeterson.com
