Erik Banks, born on Guam raised in Michigan, passed suddenly. He was only 38 years old, with an incredibly bright future ahead of him. He was the first born, cherished son of Monica Banks and the late John Banks, the best big brother to Derrick, Gary, Rachel and Mari, adored uncle to Evan, Connor, Isabella, Nathaniel, Serenity, Eleanor and Ezra. He is also survived by so many loved aunts, uncles and cousins. Erik was an extremely talented photographer with an eye for beauty, especially in nature. He was adventurous and fearless; he had been skydiving and loved roller coasters, the bigger the better. He loved board games, video games and techno music, but above all, he loved his family and friends. Erik never met a problem he couldn't solve or a person he wouldn't help and was always, always there to listen.

Visitation will be from 2:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home located at 9800 Telegraph Rd. Cremation will take place following the visitation. On Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:00PM family and friends will gather at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home for a memorial service. Following the service we will process to Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery for the burial of cremated remains.
