Obituary

Erik Frank Kassab Age 43 Visitation Friday, May 8, 2015, from 1:00pm-9:00pm at the Taylor Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S. Telegraph Road. Funeral Service begins at 7:00pm on Friday. To express the life of Erik Kassab... well, you would need to write a book! Not just one, but many books. Books that are filled with musically inclined tracks, thrills of adventure and fame, the love of family and friends, the gift of life through Jesus Christ, and the ups and downs of this roller-coaster that we are all on while here on Earth. Erik was a loving husband to Becky Kassab, and a doting father to his children: Kimberly Varga, Erik Kassab, Austin Walters, Cayden Kassab, Angel Kassab, and son-in-law Brandon Varga. He was a caring son to Rosemary Kassab, a thoughtful brother to Scott Kassab, Jennifer Kassab, Kimberly Kassab, and sister-in-law Lisa Kassab. He was a grand "Grandude" to Levi Varga, Tucker Varga, and Annabelle Skye. Erik was also a teasing, playful uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. His unique and inventive sense of humor often kept the family laughing. Erik had many acquaintances, as he was a very social person and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. His conversations varied from light humor, to his love of preaching the Good News, and to his passions for politics, cooking, and music. No matter where in the world Erik went, [Norway, Sweden, Denmark, or all around the USA] he always made new friends simply by being himself. You were a stranger to Erik only once. Erik appreciated his friends, who he knew he could count on to have his back in difficult situations. They were his friends for life. Erik seemed to have a genuine ability to see who people truly were, as he surrounded himself with the best people. Many people may question what would constitute a good and fulfilled life here on Earth. Well Erik, he had his answer for sure- and would vocalize it when asked! Erik's definition of a fulfilled life included: raising, nurturing, loving, and instilling good morals into his children, growing emotionally and spiritually with his wife, leading his family in the Lord, and bringing those who may be lost or straying back into the secure arms of Jesus Christ. His happiness came in many ways. He found enjoyment in hosting family dinners and picnics, creating music in his studio, sightseeing and traveling, and taking his wife out on dates. The life of Erik Kassab was filled with more love and generosity then some people know in their lifetimes. We were very blessed to know and love him. -Erik A. Kassab
