Ethel E. of Dearborn, MI, Ethel Elizabeth Darany 93,of Dearborn, MI passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 after a brief illness.

She had been a Dearborn resident of the past 58 years. Ethel, who was affectionately known as "Babe" or "Aunt Babe" to her family and close friends was born December 8,1923 in Shinnston, WV. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Barbara Joseph. She loved singing songs from the 1930's, 40's and 50's. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking and being a homemaker. She had an artist eye and recognized the beauty in all things. Most important to Ethel was the time she shared with her loving family. She was a devout Catholic and prayed everyday.

She is survived by her loving children Theresa (David) Smith and George. Ethel, who outlived her nine siblings, had over 50 nieces and nephews and over 100 grand nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 1:00 – 9:00pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home 22546 Michigan Ave.,Dearborn 48124. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00am (instate 10:30am) at St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church 16101 Rotunda Dr., Dearborn 48124 followed by a procession to St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn, Heights 48127

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Ethel.
