Lee Thume (1931-2026) born Gladis Evaleta Stephens, passed away peacefully in her Dearborn home, at the age of 94 February 23, 2026. She lived a remarkable life as a loving wife, mother, and community leader. After graduating college and raising her two children, she pioneered assistive technology for the visually impaired and poured her heart into music, composing over 100 songs. Lee's warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit defined her -- from boating adventures with her husband to late night jam sessions.

Lee will be remembered for her kindness, creativity and adventurous spirit. We celebrate her life and the indelible impact she made on those who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, daughter-in-law, six grand-children and a great-grandchild.

Friends and family are invited to a chapel memorial service in honor of Lee Thume on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM, at Allegria Village (15181 Ford Road, Dearborn, MI 48126). Following the service, please join us for a reception as we celebrate Lee's remarkable life. We welcome everyone whose life she touched to come together and remember her with joy.
