Evan Andrew Campbell of Dearborn was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the age of 21.

Evan was born in Dearborn, Michigan on March 5, 2003, to his loving parents Mark and Amy Campbell. His life was a challenge from birth, having been born with Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome resulting in severe developmental and physical disabilities. Despite these challenges, Evan persevered and thrived, even against the predictions of medical professionals. He was a true miracle.

Evan was the beloved big brother to Jenna and Olivia, and he treated them as any brother would by showing his love through hugs and hair pulling. He was adored by his grandparents, Henry and Lana Mielen, and Lawrence and the late Stephanie Campbell, who helped tremendously in Evan's care and assisted in making sure he lived the best life possible. Evan was also greatly loved and will be missed by his uncles Jeff Mielen and Eric Campbell, and his cousins Tatum, Darla, and Celia.

For his entire life, Evan had a special way of connecting with everyone he met. His infectious smile and laugh, and his happy demeanor endeared him to countless teachers, therapists, doctors, bus drivers, and more. Evan loved to be around people and was even known to give hugs to complete strangers. Later in his life, Evan developed a love of all things SpongeBob and would get a huge smile on his face anytime he heard the theme song. He brought joy to so many people and will be dearly missed. Evan's family takes comfort in knowing that he is now whole and in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be at Howe - Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Dearborn, 22546 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Mi. 48124, 313-561-1500, on Thursday 5-23-2024 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, with  services the following day Friday 5-24-2024 with visitation at 10:30am and service at 11:00am from Guardian Lutheran Church, 24544 Cherry Hill St, Dearborn, MI 48124.
