Evelyn Marie Bondy, August 15, 1928 - October 3, 2012 Evelyn was a long time Taylor resident where she and her late husband, Kenneth "Buck", raised 9 children. Evelyn was born in River Rouge, Michigan and named Evelyna Eva Marie Emeterio and moved at a very young age to Taylor. She had 5 children attending G. Mennen William Elementary School at the same time where she kept herself busy by volunteering. In 1976 she lost her 18 year old son, Gerald. To help cope with the loss she became a volunteer at Heritage Hospital in Taylor and eventually a switch board operator. She retired after 30 years of service. In addition to volunteering she took on a part time job doing home demonstrations with Christmas Around the World. Evelyn traveled around the globe with awards she won and made a life time of friends through her work. She also opened a small ice cream and candy concession trailer at Milan Dragway named Granny's Ice Cream. She was known as "Granny" at the drag strip. She cared for and helped everyone she ever met. Her hard working hands are now at rest with many hearts touched and memories that will live forever. If you knew Evelyn, you knew about her family. She was the glue that held them together and was proud of all of them. Our family chain is broken and nothing will be the same, although she will always be by our side and in our hearts. Evelyn leaves behind her children; Glenn (Lori) Bondy, Gary (Barbara) Bondy, Patricia (Dale) Williams, Pamela (William) Kapolka, Gregory (Patricia) Bondy, Geoffory (Jane) Bondy, Pauletta (Russell) Hall, Pennie Bondy and the late Gerald Bondy. Her 15 grandchildren are; Gary Bondy, Deneen Baxter, Darren (Christi) Bondy, Dennis (Marina) Davidson, Paxton (Lisa) Williams, Dustin (Alison) Williams, Vanessa (Stuart) Brooks, Jason MacDonald, Renee Bondy, Jacob Bondy, Jamie (Jason) Stratton, Gregory Bondy, Ashley Hall, Katlyn Hall & Nick Hall. Her 15 great-grandchildren are; Krystiana and Chase Baxter, Angelina and Isabella Davidson, MacKenzie Malone, Alexis and Lauren Stratton, Austin, Charles, Ella, Grace, June and Adam Williams, Teagan and Parker Brooks. A step grandson Brandon Applin. She also leaves behind her brother Robert Emeterio and sister Sally Peterson. She suffered from Alzheimers and slowly faded away from us. We were at her bedside until the end. We cannot bring our Mom back but each of us will carry a part of her in our hearts. She taught us to be kind, compassionate, giving and to enjoy life to the fullest as she did. Rest in Peace Mom.
