Frances Mary Permuy passed away on October 20, 2024 at the age of 75.

Fran was preceded in death by her loving son James Slone Jr. and dear son-in-law Luther Ogea Jr. She is survived by her daughters Wanda and Michelle, son-in-law Russell and bonus daughter Denise; grandchildren Brian, Amber, Cheyenne (Joseph), James, Marissa, and Dominic; great grandchildren Joshua, Jackson, and Olivia; and treasured best friends and sisters Diane and Karen.

Fierce and feisty is how best to describe her. Her small stature may have led people to believe she was a quaint and dainty lady, overlooking her roller derby days when she was younger, or her ability to speak up whenever she wanted her voice heard – which happened often. Her daily routine of making her morning coffee, sitting in her chair in the living room to watch the news, that soon turned into her watching talk shows to get all of the celebrity gossip she needed to start her day was just a glimpse of her simple joys. She had a passion for keeping up with her yard work and even won awards for its beauty. She also enjoyed the occasional session of people watching out of the front window of the house to "see what's going on in the neighborhood". She was a crafter and was always finding projects to work on.

Family meant the most to her. Her door was always open to anyone and everyone. She is remembered as being remarkably selfless and willing to sacrifice everything she could for those she loved. Although it was often joked that the boys in the family received more care, she loved her entire family with a strong devotion. Even in her declining health, she hung on as long as she could for her family around her to share as much time as possible with her.

Visitation for Frances will be Sunday, October 27 1:00 until 8:00pm with services on Monday, October 28 at 11:00 AM. All services will be held at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9800 Telegraph Rd. Taylor Mi.
