Frank Johnny Kozar Age 92 died at home in Taylor, MI on January 9, 2009. Mr. Kozar was born in Escanaba, MI on January 2, 1917, second of eight children born to Ignatz and Barbara Kozar. He became deaf as an infant. He attended the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint from age 9 through 17. He married Antoinette Monica Russell at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Detroit on July 2, 1946. They moved to Taylor, MI in 1958. He worked for Ford Motor Company from 1942 through his retirement in 1974. Frank and Antoinette were active members of the Detroit Deaf Club for many years, and long time members of the deaf congregation at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Redford. Antoinette preceded Frank in death on April 30, 2008. Frank is survived by his five children: Frank Kozar of Allen Park, MI; Molly Kline of Belleair, FL; Sarah Wilson of El Paso, TX; Tim Kozar of Taylor, MI; and Ada McCain of Medford, OR; and eight grandchildren. Visitation Monday, 10am-12noon at the Taylor Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S. Telegraph Road. Funeral Service at 12:00noon.
