Obituary

RUNNELS, Frank    Age 88 of Dearborn

Beloved Husband of the late Jeanne, for over 40 years.

Loving Father of Joy Runnels (Don "Fede" Borchard) and the late Tram Runnels.

Dearest Brother and Uncle to many including; Dave Stenton, Peggy Runnels Hanson, Ronnie Runnels, Roberta Brazier, Tommy Runnels, Beatrice Runnels and Patsy Ivy .

Dear Friend to Claudette Cicerralli.

Veteran of the US Army.

Frank had many passions in life including flying his Cessna plane in his earlier years. He was most proud of his Union and Civil Rights work. Frank was one of three men that conceptualized the "30 & Out" movement for the Autoworkers, that then inspired other Unions to follow.  Frank fought for equal opportunities for all, both working in the Union and the Society in general. He was President of Local 22 and Regional Director of UAW Region 1E.

Frank was a loving and loyal caregiver to Jeanne during her battle with Alzheimer's.

Frank was a loving and supportive father to Tram and Joy. Encouraging them to follow their passions in life.  From him they learned the qualities of honesty, fairness and a love for knowledge.

In lieu of flowers Frank asked for donations to be made to the ACLU or ActBlue.
