Fred Brandenburg, 95, of Dearborn died December 16, 2020 at Angela Hospice.  Fred is survived by his wife Barbara (71 years of marriage) and his son Robert.  Also surviving are his grandson Leonard (Leslie), granddaughter Jessica, great-grandson Blake, great-grandson Tristin (Ann-Dee) and great-great-grandsons Jaiden and Troy.  Fred was preceded in death by daughter Marcia and son Kurt, both adult victims of cancer.

Fred was a WWII veteran serving as a 1 ^st Lieutenant in the Army mainly in the Philippine Islands.  He was a graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in Engineering and Business Administration.  Fred was employed as a Sales Engineer by Detroit Edison.  Fred was active in a variety of community activities and a 57-year member of Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis.  Before being drafted, Fred was a squad member of the University of Michigan basketball and golf teams.  In later years, he enjoyed both golf and tennis.  Fred was an excellent bridge player.

Fred loved and was responsible for the wonderful springtime blooming display of daffodils at the Henry Ford Estate.  Memorial contributions for the continuing support of the gardens may be made to the Henry Ford Estate, 1 Fair Lane Dr., Dearborn, MI 48128.
