Gary J. Popek

Age 66 a lifelong resident of Dearborn passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2017.

Survived by his brother Bruce (Mary Jo) Popek, niece Carolyn Popek, nephew Brian (Cassaundra) Popek, and great nephew Brayden.

Preceded in death by his loving parents Cass and Sophie Popek.

He enjoyed model railroading, the Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings, but mostly he enjoyed the company of friends and meeting new people.  Gary was an active member in the Ford Model Railroad Club and a volunteer at The Henry Ford and Dearborn Historical Museum.

A Mass will be held on August 26th at 10:00AM at St. Sebastian Church, 3965 Merrick St in Dearborn.

A memorial gathering of friends will take place on August 26th from 11:30 AM to 1:30PM at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Homes, 22546 Michigan Ave in Dearborn.

Burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery will be private.
