Schleif, George Age 90 November 7, 2016 Beloved husband of the late Eva. Dearest father of Susan Schleif, Linda (David) Pierson and Peggy Schleif. Dear grandfather of Lissa Pierson, Suzanne Pierson, Beth (Carlos) Ringer, and Mallory (Jacob) Pierson. Precious great-grandfather of Andrew. Loving brother-in-law of Elsie Klein. Best friend and neighbor for 53 years to Alphonsus Kumor. George served 4 years in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. George retired as the Battalion Chief for the City of Dearborn Fire Department in 1981 after 32 years of service. After retiring from the City of Dearborn, George worked from 1983 to 1988 for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Campus Security, then was a Bailiff for the 19th District Court in Dearborn from 1988 to 1993. He was the former President of the Dearborn Good fellows and a volunteer for the Dearborn Fire Department Burn Drive. George was an active member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Dearborn where he was the first child Baptized in the Church in March of 1926 along with his twin sister June. In state Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 9:30am with Funeral Service at 10 am at Atonement Lutheran Church, 6961 Mead Street, Dearborn, MI 48126. Visitation Thursday, November 10th, 2 pm-8 pm and Friday, November 11th, 2 pm-8 pm at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Avenue.
