Gerald Major AKA "Bubba" passed away February 12th, 2021 at the age of 56. Proud father to his son Tyler. Dear son of Diane and John. Beloved brother to Mark, Elaine, John, Elisa, and Randy. Brother-in-law to Mark and Stacey. Uncle to Julianne, Brett, Ryan, Kelsey, Dylan, Ashley, Zachary, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Eric, and Christopher. Longtime friend of Tyler's mother, Sandra.

We are all dealt a hand of cards in life, and Gerald did the best he could with his. Gerald loved helping the community as he was employed as a Probation Officer for the city of Detroit for many years. He also spent time employed as a Detention Facilities Officer, helping juvenile kids get their lives on the right path. Bubba was a huge lover of sports and often times you could catch him on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon watching Michigan sports. During his time at Michigan State University, swimming was his true calling. He spent his time swimming in any pool he could find during the summer. One of his favorite destinations to travel to was Frankenmuth, Michigan where he brought entertainment and fun wherever he went. He was very witty and quick with a joke, always having the family laughing at holiday dinners. Overall, there will never be another Gerald Major but the memories of him live on in the people that got to see his true essence and happiness. Keep in mind, this is not a good bye…just a see you later!

A private service will take place followed by burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
