Geraldine "Gerry" Joan Filippi (nee Gorecki), age 86, of Dearborn Heights, MI was born on April 18, 1936 and passed away June 27, 2022.

Beloved wife of the late Baldassare Leonard Filippi for 58 years until her dear "Phil" passed in 2019.

She is the proud mother of Jeffrey (Beverley) Filippi, Kathryn (Richard) Rice, Gary (Dorothy) Filippi and Paula (T.J.) Briggs.

Gerry was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Sophie Gorecki, and dear stepmothers Wanda and Hedwig.

Gerry's grandchildren were her world, she loved MacKenzie Filippi (Jacob Williams), Mitchel Filippi, Shane Filippi, Ann Marie Rice and Kevin Briggs.

She cherished her dear sister the late Constance (the late Raymond) Pikelis, and her many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gerry retired as a director of a data processing firm, but never retired from being a great mother, wonderful wife, and fierce friend.  She loved her family, her garden, and her home.  She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Tigers and Lions, and watching the birds.  She passed in her home with family at her side.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 2:00-8:00PM and a Rosary will be held at 7:00pm at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S Telegraph, Taylor 48180. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 instate 9:30AM until time of Mass at 10AM, at St. Maria Goretti Parish, 3965 Merrick St, Dearborn Heights, MI 48125.
