Gladys Baldwin-Brinson, 98, died November 15, 2016, at home in Dexter, Michigan.
Visitation is Friday, Nov.18, 2016, at Peters Funeral Home (3880 Fort St, Lincoln Park, MI) from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. On Saturday services are at Glenwood United Methodist Church, Wyandotte, MI with viewing at 10:00 am, funeral at 11:00 am. Following the Service there will be a luncheon. Following the luncheon will be the procession to Michigan Memorial Cemetery in Flatrock, MI.
Gladys was born July 14, 1918 in Northfield, MN to John Berntsen and Edith Schenstad-Berntsen. Her father was the Groundskeeper at St. Olaf; her mother was devoted to serving her family. Gladys taught decades of students in Home Economics and Physical Education in Lincoln Park where she lived for sixty years.
She was an active member of Glenwood United Methodist Church until 2014 when she moved to Dexter where she attended Dexter United Methodist Church. She loved being involved with her church and her church family.
Her interests included pottery, wood carving, scrapbooking, Sons of Norway, and gardening.
Gladys is survived by daughter Carol Jehle, Susan (Dale) Schotts, 3 grandchildren: Jerry (Dawn) Jehle, Michael (Laura) Jehle , and Kristen (Ben Harris) Schotts. She had 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Wilmar Baldwin, Carl Brinson, and son, Gerald.
