Gladys Marie Lager, age 97, peacefully passed to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2018.  Preceded in death by her husband Stephen J. Shovoly of Lupton, Michigan. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Sheldon (Jim Dickinson) and son Steven Shovoly (Meg McCauley) and grandchildren Claire Sheldon (Matthew Jendrychowski), Madelyn Sheldon (Brad Vieau) and Lake Shovoly as well as loving nieces and nephews and her beloved great grandchildren Elena and Vaughn  Vieau and Carter J and Rian J Sheldon. Also survived by Donald W. Lager of Cadillac, Michigan. Going before her are her parents, Bertha and Henry Meyer,  brothers Robert (Hazel) and Herb (Virginia) and sister Jane (Henry).

Gladys was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Park where she was a member of the choir for many years and supported the mission programs of the church.

Gladys retired from Wyandotte General Hospital in the mid-1980's where she worked in the Emergency Room Admitting Office.

Gladys greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, shopping (she is our family fashionista role model),traveling with friends, going up north to Sage Lake, reading, baking, singing,  playing and watching golf and was a huge U of M football fan.

In her memory, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Michigan and Glacier Hills Foundation, where she spent the last 1-1/2 years of her life.
