YOLTON, Gladys Mable nee Roberts Devoting herself to family, relatives, neighbors, her children's school activities and social justices, everything Gladys did was for her family and others. Loving, kind, generous and caring with a beautiful smile, Gladys M. Yolton died June 10, 2010 at Evangelical Home, Sterling Heights, MI surrounded by family. She was 81. Born March 24, 1929 in East Moline, IL, she graduated from United Township High School. On January 23, 1948 she married John Douglas Yolton of Moline, IL, and later moved to Detroit, MI in 1965. She was a former PTA President of Willard Elementary School in Moline, IL and homemaker. She was the woman who stood behind her husbands causes union, environmental, civil rights and political, she went to the United States Supreme Court, fought, won, and recovered lost health care benefits for thousands of workers in her final years. Gladys enjoyed all family activities, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family vacations, bird and squirrel watching, she was a great bowler in her younger years. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband John, and is survived by three daughters, Holly Macon of Boise, ID, Nancy Kenneth Henry of Clinton Township, MI, Carol Craig Ebendick of Wyandotte, MI, 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Kevin Howell, Patrick Elizabeth Kelly, Chad Macon, David Amanda Macon, Berton Henry, Natalie and Jack Ebendick, 4 great grandchildren, Hannah, Miriam and Payton Kelly and Dylan Howell, two sisters, Joann Chung of Canton, MI, Sharon Bennett of Milan, IL, 1 brother John Roberts of East Moline, IL, she was preceded in death by brother Joseph Roberts, she has several loving nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Services are at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI. Visitation Monday, June 14th 10:00 am to 12 Noon with service following at Noon.
