Glenda was born in Huntsville, Alabama, and moved to Detroit when she was a child. There she met her sweetheart, Herbert, and they were married on December 1, 1956. They raised 3 children and pastored 2 churches. The early years were spent training for ministry at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Upon graduation, they started a church in Battle Creek, Michigan and were there until the Lord moved them to Beacon Baptist Church, Taylor, Michigan, in 1966. She was a warm, loving pastor's wife who cared for each person she met. She always made sure you knew she loved you.
