Gordon William Bailey was born April 4, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He was called home to be with his heavenly Father on February 22, 2022, at 79 years of age. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda of 60 years, his three children, Sherry (Mitchell) Hogan, Michael (Michelle) Bailey and Christie Ireland, along with his five grandchildren, Justin Bailey, Nicholas LaClair, Amanda (JC) Wilhelm, Kayla (Eric) Makinen and Chad Hogan. Bill was also the proud Great Grandfather of Adalynn LaClair, Rose Wilhelm and Lincoln Makinen and loving brother of Dale (David) Bailey-Horner and Greg (Joyce) Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Bailey and Catherine Boyd and his brother, Dwight Bailey.

After graduating high school and marrying his high school sweetheart, Linda, Bill joined the Air Force, where he served four years as an air traffic controller. He went on to have a successful 36-year career with General Motors. Most importantly, Bill devoted his life to serving the Lord. He attended Beacon Baptist Church for 55 years and served on the board as a trustee for 30 years. With Linda, he also worked in the Children's Junior department. Throughout his life he made friends wherever he went. He had the gift of gab and always had a smile on his face. Bill was loved and cherished by his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
