Gordon Earl Olson Age 70 Son of Rev. Earl E. & Gladys Olson who are deceased. Born July 24,1943 in Detroit Michigan where he resided until moving to Taylor, MI in 1956. Attended Taylor Center H. S. graduating 1961. Gordon loved sports especially baseball. He played baseball & basketball during 4 years of High School. Earning a letter in baseball. Later he coached Little League baseball team to a championship in 1974. Retired from Ford Motor Co. after 35 years as Journeyman Rigger Husband of his beloved Margaret who proceeded him in death July 9th of this year. Survived By sons Leonard E. Olson & his wife Rachel and Michael J. Olson and wife Jennifer and their Mother Dorothy Ginnard. . Also survived by three sisters Sharon I. Pike, Edna I. Olson and Bonnie L. Nowland. Married Margie on April 1, 1981 and became step dad to Jon (Kathy), Mike (Cindy), Linda (Ron), Ronnie, Kerry(Sherman) and Roy (Tammy) Grandpa to 16 Grandchildren and Great Grandpa to 13. Gordon was Baptized At St Andrews Memorial Episcopal and Confirmed at St Johns Episcopal in Detroit. Acolyte during his youth at St Johns & Christ the King Episcopal churches. During later years he claimed to be a pool hustler. A favorite past time was fishing and had the patience to teach young children to love fishing. Member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Taylor MI . Served as Elder, Lay reader, Evangelism Board. He also volunteered as Spiritual Support Givers at Heritage Hospital in Taylor. Mentoring alcoholics until his the time of his death. He was surrounded by family and friends listening to The Word of God when he left us. Gordon was loved and will be missed by many.
