Gregory Alan
Parks
April 6, 1966 – February 22, 2021
Gregory Alan (Greg) Parks of New Boston, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2021 at the age of 54.
He is survived by Laura Parks, loving wife of 24 years; Daughters Savanna and Rebecka Parks; Brothers James (Carol), Gil (Carla), Bruce (Pam), and Brian (Rebecca) Parks. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, a host of long-time friends and his beloved dog, Sophie. Gregory is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Shirley Parks of Taylor, Michigan.
Gregory was born in Dearborn, Michigan to Floyd and Shirley Parks on April 6, 1966. He graduated from Taylor Center High School in 1984 and joined the Marines. He was proud of his four years in the US Marines Corps. including one year in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was a former Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy, Taylor Police Officer and private investigator.
He was a wonderful father to Rebecka and Savanna and was so very proud of them both! He loved to entertain family and friends up north at the family cabin – piloting the pontoon, jet skiing, building large fires, eating big home cooked meals, telling stories and making sure everyone had a good time. He enjoyed helping others and would always stop to help change stranger's flat tires or give them a ride. He was always willing to help anyone.
In lieu of flowers, in Greg's memory, please look for ways to give your time to helping others as that is what Greg would have wanted.
