Obituary

Guadalupe Madrigal, age 74, passed away August 20, 2023.

Beloved wife of Eliseo Madrigal for 50 beautiful years.
Proud mother of Elia Gonzalez and Elisa Madrigal.
Caring grandmother of Roel Gonzalez and Antonio Gilezan.
Dear sister of Javier (Jeanette), and the late Eladio, David, Salvador, Rafael, Thomas, Eliovardo, Pedro, Amelia, Guadalupe, Celia, Maria Ester, Obdulia, and Maria Cruz.
Loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Born November 15, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Tomas and Petra Ledesma.

Guadalupe was a woman with many vibrant facets to her life. She would always start her mornings the right way: with a coffee and donut. As a child, she was given the nickname by her father, "La Pajara" or Little Bird, and lived up to it to a T with her beautiful singing voice. She sang at many venues in her younger years and her children remember her filling the house with beautiful music as they grew up. She loved Mexican music, Motown, and Oldies.

Another favorite passion of Guadalupe's was dancing. She met her lifelong friend and partner, Eliseo, at a dance in their youth. They continued that love of dance for many, many years to come. At least twice a month they'd go out to Luna Pier or Blue Diamond to cut a rug together.

She was very proud of her luscious flower garden and cooked some amazing meals. Some of her most notable dishes were her sloppy joe recipe, picadillo, and enchiladas. She even had a talent for sketching. She could draw anything from landscapes to intricate portraits. Guadalupe was devoted in her faith. She held it strongly and prayed as often as she could. This strength in her belief got her through many tough treatments over the years; her doctors would even remark at her good spirits during such hard times.

Above all, Guadalupe adored her family. She mentioned that some of the happiest times she had were taking care of her kids and grandkids. She helped raise her grandchildren while their parents worked, so much so that they considered her to be their second mom. Taking trips with her family were some of the best days. She loved to take little adventures with them, whether it be going out to eat with Eliseo, going to the movies with the kids, taking a Sunday drive, or summer family vacations to Texas, Traverse City, Frankenmuth, Boblo, and Cedar Point.
