Obituary

Gudrun Twardosz, of Taylor, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2021 at the age of 78.

Beloved wife of the late Adam Twardosz and partner of the late Henry Pajak.

Loving mother of Beata (Mark) Thierry and Sebastian Twardosz.

Cherished grandmother of Garrett Thierry, Lauren (fiancé Dirk) Thierry, Ethan Twardosz, and Jonah Twardosz.

Dear sister of Pitor (Iza) Pysz.

Dearest aunt of Sławek Pysz and Pitor Pysz.

Gudrun also leaves behind Ben, her beloved German Shepherd.

Gudrun was a multi-talented athlete in her youth in Poland in the 1960s.  She was an avid runner and tennis player.  She also loved winter sports, especially skiing and luge.  She was most successful in luge where she became an 5-time Polish champion in singles.  She represented Poland in the European Championships and was ranked as the number one female luge runner in the world.
It is thanks to luge that she met her future husband, Adam Twardosz, who also excelled in luge as well as cycling.
After completing her sports career, she devoted herself to work as a hairdresser and cosmetologist with the title of master in her profession which was her second great passion after luging.
She immigrated to the United States in 1976 with her daughter and son who both graduated from university and excelled in their chosen professions.  After her husband Adam passed away in 1987, she became the matriarch of her family.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Michigan Humane Society .

A memorial gathering will start at 9:30AM until the service at 11:30AM at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph Rd.
