Obituary

Harry Leroy Sheline passed away December 3, 2022, at Beaumont Hospital Dearborn, Michigan at the age of 99, after a short illness. Harry was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 19, 1923 to Raymond and Rozenna Sheline.

Harry was a 1941 graduate of Woodward High School. He started work for Ford Motor Co. at the age of 17, as a tool and die apprentice.  He became a journeyman, and then supervisor, and worked for Ford for over 50 years.  Harry used his creativity at Ford by helping them save hundreds of thousands of dollars by suggesting better ways to do things. Harry loved to fish, and was very good at it.  He often caught fish when no one else was catching.  He had many chances to fish at his cottage on the St Clair River, and his vacation home in Key Largo, Florida.  He often competed with his son Ed.  He was a strong believer in hard work, and taught his children and others by his example.  Harry was very capable of building things, and fixing things. From adding bathrooms, to finishing basements, to building garages, installing sprinkler systems, and he was always available to help.  Harry loved children, and was happiest when he was around his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Harry is preceded in death by his loving wife Joy of over 60 years, three brothers, Raymond Sheline, Richard Sheline, and Robert Sheline.  Harry will be dearly missed by his children, Harry Jr (Linda) Sheline, Matthew (Ilene) Sheline, Edward Sheline, and Lisa (Dave) Steinbauer, seven grandchildren Kelly (Phil) Sonnenfeld, Ross (Lauren) Sheline, Katie (Jason) Arends, Dan (Steph) Sheline, Stephen Steinbauer, Beth (Ronnie) Schmidt, and Wesley Steinbauer, and eight great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank his caregivers for their loving compassion and kindness, especially Beata Bania.

Friends can visit the family at Howe Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, 48124 (313-561-1500) on Sunday 12/11/2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday 12/12/2022.
