Helen Joan Huff, age 93, of Dearborn, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021. the daughter of the late John W. and Helen B. Lawrence.

She was born on September 9, 1928 in Highland Park, Michigan,
Joan, as she was known to her friends, was raised in Detroit on Mound Road and graduated from Detroit Pershing High School in 1948. After graduation she was employed by the Fire Extinguisher Company, located in the Penobscot Building in Detroit.

In the spring of 1952 she met Robert Huff and they were married 6 months later on November 1. They settled down in Lincoln Park where Bob was a firefighter and they had 4 children.

In 1969, Joan and Bob bought property in Canada where they built a beautiful stone cottage on Lake Huron. For the next 40 years they spent their summers with their children and grandchildren, their personal slice of heaven. Joan enjoyed her flower gardens, birdwatching, fishing with Bob and the kids, and playing cards with family and friends.

They also had a home in Green Valley, Arizona, near her brother Ross and his wife Lil, where they spent winters after Bob retired.

Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren, who she adored, called her 'Mimi'.

Joan was preceded in death by Bob, parents John and Helen, brothers Peter, John (Ross) and Frederick (Rick).

Beloved mother of Tom (Sharon) Huff, Bob (Carolyn) Huff. Christine (Bob) Summers and Scott (Sue) Huff.

Loving grandmother to Tommy Huff, Amanda Huff, Alicia (Chris) Sekerak, Katie Summers, and Hayley Huff.

Funeral service will be Thursday 6:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Thursday 1-6 p.m.
