Helen E.
Nicholl
August 3, 1939 – February 26, 2023
Helen "Honey" Nicholl born on August 3, 1939, and went to the Lord on February 26, 2023. Helen was born a coal miner's daughter to Jess and Margaret Bish. She grew up in Brookville, PA with her amazing nine siblings. She was raised to appreciate and enjoy family, which is one attribute she embodied with her 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Her life was raising, guiding, praising, and loving every moment she had with them. She was our Hero and served as the glue to keep our family grounded. Her passion aside from being a wonderful mother and grandmother was her garden. She loved spending time outside attending to all the beautiful flowers. She passed that trait on to all of us, as it was a wonderful lesson to share. Attending to the success of a flower taught us all how to attend to our lives. She had the ability to show us how love and attentiveness to the flowers was really a wonderful way to raise a family with the same frame of mind. She loved to cook for our wonderful family and especially during the Holiday seasons. She touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. She may have only had four sons by birth, but was a mother to so many more. She loved music and truly enjoyed playing the piano. She is survived by her three sons, John (Connie), Ken (Kathy), predeceased by Robert (Tessa), Steve (Robyn), 10 grandchildren, Brady, Claire, Mckenna, Drew, Conor, Brendan, Sean (Christine), Noah (Nicole), Ian, and Aidan. 1 great grand child, Amelia, surviving sisters, Delores, Maxine, Shirley, Janet, and Charlotte. Helen has gone to be at peace and rejoin her husband, son, siblings, and many other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, we ask a donation be sent to the family to provide a scholarship based on kindness for a student as this is what she would have wanted. Please send checks to the Nicholl family at 13645 Fisher Road, Yale, MI 48097.
A celebration of life will be held 3-8pm at the Dearborn Location of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
