Herbert Wilson of Dearborn, Michigan passed away in Brighton, Michigan in the early morning of November 25, 2024. He was 97.

Herbert was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on November 2, 1927, the son of Raymond and Angie Wilson and the brother of Leroy, Ronnie, Bobby, Billy, and Eddie. He married Movoureene (née Green) on December 26, 1945. Herbert enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in France and Germany from 1946-1947. He and Movoureene moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1950. They raised their four daughters surrounded by loving neighbors in Inkster before settling in Dearborn. After a brief stint working in an auto factory, Herbert spent his career as a commercial driver for Greyhound and trucking companies until his retirement in 1988 and was a proud Teamster.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Movoureene Wilson, and his daughter, Wendy Ludwick. He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Brenda McCarty, Kathy and Jim McMillan, Karen and Raymond Zakaria; his grandchildren Mary-Ann Hurlbert, Kathy Zakaria, Brett McMillan, Courtney McCarty, Jonathan Ludwick, and Christopher McMillan; and his great-grandchildren Zak Hurlbert, Finn McMillan, Theo Hurlbert, Mina Ciccone, Sloane McMillan, Adelaide and Georgia Hurlbert, and Milo Ciccone. He will be sorely missed by each member of his family.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3 at the Howe- Peterson Funeral Home in Dearborn, Michigan, followed by a memorial service with military honors from 12:30-1:00. Burial will take place at a later date at the Great Lakes National Cemetery with only his family in attendance.
