Obituary

Hoye Daniels, 81, of South Rockwood, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday January 30, 2024, with the love, care, and support of his family. He was born on July 22, 1942, in Harrogate, Tennessee.

Hoye graduated from Trenton High School and made his career at Monsanto Chemical Company until he retired in 1998. On October 24, 1964, he married the love of his life, Judy Baltrip, and spent 57 years making wonderful memories with their family. He was raised in a loving home and remained extremely close to his siblings his entire life.

Dad was a gentle and kind soul. Never a man of many words, but he didn't have to be as he lived a life that spoke for him. He was an extraordinary example to his family as a man of sincere integrity. His loyalty and faithfulness to Christ, family and his church is the Hallmark of his life. A man of unwavering principles Dad was Ordained as a Deacon and  Faithfully served Lakeside in this Leadership role for most of his life.  His life was not only one that his family held in high esteem but his Church also.  He was a great support to the congregation and its Pastors.

Dad's family meant the world to him as he so thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent with them. Those were his happiest moments as he beamed with pride as he spoke about each of his kids or grandkids. If you listened to him, they were the very best at everything they pursued. He would be at all their sporting events cheering them on from the sidelines. His unconditional love and support will be sorely missed. I know that in this life no man is perfect. But in our eyes dad was as close as it gets.

Dad was never one to sit still. For the summer season he could be found on the golf course with his son and grandkids or his church brothers from Lakeside. In the fall, winter and spring turkey and deer hunting were two of dad's favorite things. He would head north with his brother Troy and lifelong friend Glenn Bussell. The trophies on the wall are few but the stories and the laughs are endless.

There were two men that held a very special place in dad's life. First, his pastor Larry Head with whom he travelled the country, of course golfing at every stop. His love, dedication and respect for his pastor was evident to all who knew him. Second, his best friend Everette Bailey that he considered a brother. They golfed, hunted, fished and vacationed together for 50 years. Those were some of dads most treasured memories. Everette Bailey was truly a friend until the very end, and for that the family is grateful.

Hoye is survived by his three children: Kim (Don)Hoppert of Monroe, MI,  Todd (Sheila) Daniels of South Rockwood, MI, Jennifer (David) McGregor of Newport, MI, eight cherished grandchildren: Todd (Chelvia) Hoppert, Katie (Steve) Bordine, Hunter, Connor, Landon McGregor, Kayla (Matt) Burchell, Shade and Madilynn Daniels, eight beloved great grandchildren; Mykennah, Sophia, Georgia Hoppert, Barrett Bordine, Tallen, Vayda, Daxton, Rozalee Burchell; and two sisters, Vanessa Lambert and Edna (Marvin) Cosby; sister in law Bonnie Daniels; father and mother in law, James and Louise Baltrip.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his parents, Lonnie and Ruby Daniels, brother Troy and brother-in-law Leallen Lambert.

"The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him."  Proverbs 20:7
