February 19, 1929 – January 28, 2022
Humbert "Bert" Medina passed away on January 28, 2022 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Esther (nee Herrera). Dear father Michelle (Bernard) Tanzey and Melissa (Patrick) Andonian. Proud grandfather of Leah (Caleb) Gayton and great-grandfather of Sophia and Ella. Bert is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Miguel and Michaela, and siblings, Refugio, Carlos, Ernesto, Beatrice.
Bert was raised in San Antonio, Texas. He moved to Michigan at 16 years old for work. Bert proudly served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He worked at Ford Motor Company's art department for 18 years as a graphic artist until his retirement. He enjoyed travelling, reading, trying new foods, and watching PBS, among other educational television. He was a talented artist and made works of art in his spare time. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Visitation at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 2, 1-5pm. Service with military honors will be held at 5pm. Immediately following the services, the family invites all to join them for a dinner in Bert's honor at Park Place Catering (23400 Park St, Dearborn, MI 48124)
Bert will join his beloved Esther at Woodmere Cemetery.
