James "Jim" David Buchanan died peacefully at home on May 16th, 2024, at 76. He was born on October 7th, 1947, to the late James Buchanan and Betty Weidling.

James Buchanan, affectionately known as Jim, was the cherished husband of Thea Buchanan. He was a beloved father to Tracy (Kevin) Flint, Todd (Breanne) Buchanan, Chrissy (Rob) Hall, Tasha King, and Kyle (Stacy) Buchanan. Jim was a proud grandfather of 10 and a prouder great-grandfather of 7. Caring stepbrother to Carol Lazarowicz. His siblings, Kerry Buchanan and Jackie Black, preceded him in death.

Jim Buchanan was a man of many passions. He was well known for his love of his dogs and captivating storytelling. His larger-than-life personality, coupled with these interests, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21st, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Taylor, 9800 Telegraph Road, Taylor, Michigan 48180, 313-291-0900.
