James Nelson Carpenter passed away on June 15, 2025 at the age of 68.

Jim worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, mostly in manufacturing and shop work. Even though Jim never wanted to be a manager, he eventually gave in to the constant request and became a manager. It wasn't something he talked about, but he received several awards and recognitions for his role as a manager. Jim was a quiet man who did not complain about his health, or other, issues and tended to consider the concerns of others as more important than his own. Jim liked assisting his neighbors in different ways such as giving rides and working on small-engine equipment. Jim will be missed by many friends, neighbors, and family.

Jim was preceded in death by his Parents, James Carpenter, Mable "Helen" (Wright) Carpenter; siblings, Dorothy (Carpenter) Schaal, Bill Carpenter, Marion (Carpenter) Tallman; brothers-in-law, Rich Gotch, Walter Tallman. He is survived by siblings: Ron and Ann Schaal, Pam Gotch (Carpenter), Connie (Keith) Young (Carpenter), Wayne Carpenter (Susan Pratt), Thelma Jean "TJ" (Bill) Stickney (Carpenter), Donna (Cal) Field (Carpenter); as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends everywhere.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim's name to charities of your choice, especially those which assist the underinsured or uninsured.

There will be a Memorial Gathering on Friday, July 11, 2025, 12:00PM until 3:30PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30PM at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9800 Telegraph Rd. Taylor Mi. Burial for James will be at Dawn Memorial Cemetery in Lapeer, Michigan at a later date.
