James A.
Kramer
February 25, 1966 – February 16, 2021
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, James (Jim, Jimmy) Allen Kramer passed away unexpectedly and too soon at the age of 55, after years of battling schizophrenia, and exactly one week after the passing of his father, with whom he shared an inseparable bond.
Jimmy was born in 1966 to his parents, Charles and Virginia Kramer (deceased). Jimmy was the youngest sibling to Margaret, Linda (deceased), and Earl. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Lincoln Park where he graduated from high school in 1988. Jimmy had a natural passion for hockey and played for many years on a successful league. Concerts and rock bands were Jimmy's favorite music experiences. He liked KISS, The Rolling Stones, and Motley Crue. A fun-filled time was guaranteed whenever Jimmy was involved. His wild spirit sought adventure and excitement. Jimmy stayed active and preferred spending time outdoors in nature. He enjoyed being on his boat. He loved to go fishing, especially with his father, just like he had done ever since he was a young boy. Some of Jimmy's best memories are of his mother managing his hockey team, fishing and hunting with his father, and his time spent with those closest to him. Jimmy worked at United Parcel Service (U.P.S) for 14 years before his mental illness made working unbearable. Jimmy continued living in the same house that he grew up in for the remainder of his transient life.
Jimmy was never married and had no kids of his own. However, Jimmy was a legendary uncle. Uncle Jimmy or Uncle J, aka Uncle F*#*er, was indisputably the coolest. Jimmy grew up with his first niece Gerri-Marie, as if they were siblings and made many memories together. Jimmy later became an uncle to three generations of nieces and nephews. He loved them as if they were his own children and was very much involved in their lives. He taught them many things like street hockey, basketball, and wiffleball. How to bait a hook and cast a line. He made up games, like pitching quarters, which was essentially gambling. The ultimate table hockey tournaments were hosted in Jimmy's kitchen with his nieces and nephews anxiously awaiting their chance to defeat Uncle J, but he always won. He enjoyed making jewelry and gifting it to others. Jimmy loved Little Caesars Pizza, coffee, and donuts.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Margaret, his brother Earl, and his 32 nieces and nephews. Although Jimmy's life ended too soon, his memory will live on forever in their hearts.
His life was a BLESSING, his memory is a TREASURE, and he will be deeply missed BEYOND measure.
