James Elmer Owens passed away on October 17, 2022 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Carolyn for 40 years. Loving father of Traci (the late Scott) Stevenson. Cherished grandfather of Lauren (Kevin) Zarycki. Great grandfather of Gavin. Dearest uncle to many nieces and nephews. Loving brother in law of Barbara Owens. Family friends of John and Jenny Cotton. Jim is preceded in death by his 3 siblings and by his parents; George and Myrtle Owens.

Jim was born in Lynch, Kentucky in 1944. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and even became a Sergeant. He also fought in the Vietnam War. After returning, Jim worked for GM and retired as a Hi Lo driver. In his spare time, he like to hunt and fish. He loved to hunt deer, turkey, and rabbits. His favorite sports to play in High School were football and basketball. He was a huge fan of the Detroit Lion's for many years...he eventually gave up on that. He and his wife, Carolyn, loved going to the casino; she was his lucky charm and they always won big when they were together! Their favorite one to visit was Hollywood Casino. He will be deeply missed by his entire family.
