Jan Sawyer-Hermes, longtime resident of Dearborn Heights, passed away on January 2, 2025 after her battle with cancer at the age of 67. She was surrounded by loving family and friends in her final days.

Jan recently retired from her successful career of over 40 years with Trinity Health. In her retirement, she enjoyed time with her dog, Wynston, friends from her favorite crystal shop, and closest family members; including the newest additions, her great-great niece and nephew, Marley and Miles Prylo. Jan was a devoted wife, and is now with her husband, David Hermes. She is joined in spirit by her father, John, her mother, Evelyn, and her brother, Greg. She is survived by her three siblings; Cathy, John, and Rich, as well as her "girls," Tammy, Allie, Delaney, and Annabella, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be hosted for family and close friends by her niece and goddaughters. Information from the family on this event will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to her local animal shelter, Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit in her honor.
