Jewel Orene Ramsey went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Westland, Michigan at the age of 86. Her memorial service will be held on March 19, 2016 at 11:00 am (gathering from 10:00 am) at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. Orene was born in Bryan, Texas to William and Sarah Murray on April 13, 1929. She was a longtime resident of Bryan where she met her husband, Hollis Ramsey. She had two children, Donna Liese and Gerald Ramsey. Orene will be remembered for her love of family and her strong faith. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, leading Bible study classes and sharing her faith with friends and family. She always had a song in her heart. Orene and her husband Hollis were dairy farmers for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah, her husband, Hollis Ramsey, son Gerald Ramsey, daughter Donna Liese, sister and brother-in-law Leona and Kenneth Young and sister Ruth Winslow. She is survived by her son-in-law Clifford Liese, granddaughters Wendy Melton, Keri Morris and husband Mike, great grandchildren Jack, Chase and Anna Melton, sister-in-law Doris Lanehart and brother-in-law Jack Winslow.
