SHIMODA, JIRO, age 91, born April 4, 1924 in Medford, Oregon to Kameichi (Fukumitsu) and Osawa (Kamikawa) Shimoda. Beloved brother of Ayako Watanabe, Toshiko Masuyama (deceased), Matsuko, Satoru and Chiyoko Shimoda. Devoted husband of Tomiko Margaret (Mikasa) Shimoda. Loving Father of Jon (Donna), Debra (Richard) Taylor, Cindy (Daniel) Hardy, and Daniel (Judy) Shimoda. Extraordinary Grandfather "Ji-chan" of Matthew Taylor, Scott Hardy, Mariko (Michael) Kubinec, Mikiko Shimoda, Marissa (John) Snider, Dustin and Derek Shimoda, and Marlee Grace Taylor. Interned at Tule Lake, CA relocation center during WWII. Proudly served as sergeant major in the US Army; notably listed Japanese American in the military. Attended the University of Dayton and graduated with a BA in accounting from Wayne State University. Accepted into Harvard school of business. First Asian-American CPA in the State of MI, with Wise and Shimoda from 1963 until 1989. Served on Taylor Board of Review, Big Brothers program, volunteered at Ford Senior Center, and served as Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
