Joan Evelyn Fife

Joan E. Fife passed away on August 29, 2026 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late William Fife. Loving mother of Connie (Dan) Omietanski and Mark Fife. 

Joan had many hobbies including crossword and jigsaw puzzles, she also loved gardening. Her and her husband William went on over 20 cruises, traveling all around the world. After Joan had retired as a legal secretary, she started volunteering at Garden City Hospital to help patients in any way she could. She faced many challenges with being a military spouse. When William was deployed, Joan took care of the children and the household by herself, and they had to move many times to many different states. Joan stayed strong throughout this time of her life and remained an excellent mother and wife. She loved her family more than anything and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joan's name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. All services will be located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services 9800 Telegraph Rd. Taylor, MI 48180. Joan will be interred next to her husband at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI.
