Joan Louise Ulrich entered to eternal rest on September 25th, 2024.

A lifelong resident of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights Michigan she was born on April 6th, 1933, to William B. and Louise C. Statzer. When asked as a young girl what she aspired to do in life she would reply, "To meet a nice man, buy a big house and have a bunch of kids."  She achieved this desire when she married her husband of 50 years, Richard O. Ulrich, on October 1st, 1955, after which they welcomed seven children. Always a hard worker Joan held different jobs throughout her life, beginning with being the neighborhood babysitter for the young families on Academy Street in Dearborn. In her teenage years she worked at the Dearborn Theater, starting at the candy counter then being promoted to the box office. During her young adult life, she was a private secretary at the Ford Motor Company. Once her children began to arrive she worked as a keypunch operator in the evenings so she could be home with her children during the day. In retirement she turned her love and skill of sewing into a private business sewing custom bridal and bridesmaid's gowns.  Joan also loved to travel visiting Germany, England, and cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. Joan is predeceased by husband Richard, and beloved son Mark Alvin (Shiakema George). Survived by her children, Matthew Ulrich (Cheryl), Susan Tolentino (Teddy), Mitchell Ulrich, Pamela Gross (Steven), Patricia Wallace (Michael) and Tracey Bjorling (Clark); eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
