Joane Marie
Musial
March 18, 1937 – September 19, 2025
Joane Marie Musial (née Dudek), age 88, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan. Born on March 18, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Joane lived a full and vibrant life marked by creativity, warmth, and deep devotion to her family.
Joane was a fun-loving person with a heart of gold who brought joy to those around her. Her beautiful smile and signature "Hi Hon" greeting were hallmarks of her welcoming spirit. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—being surrounded by loved ones, sharing laughter, and creating beauty through her many artistic talents. A gifted oil paint artist, Joane created countless works that now grace the homes of family and friends. Her creativity extended beyond the canvas; she also enjoyed woodworking and stained-glass art. Perhaps most cherished, were the crocheted blankets she lovingly made for every newborn in the family—each one a symbol of her enduring care. Many of these handmade treasures were also donated to local charities, reflecting her generous nature and desire to give back to her community. Joane had a deep love for music and film. She delighted in watching old black-and-white movies on TCM and singing along to timeless classics by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, and many other Big Band legends. A devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, she rarely missed a game on TV and cheered them on with unwavering enthusiasm.
Family was at the heart of Joane's life. She is survived by her children Nancy (Lance) Carpentier, Joseph (Nicol) Musial, and Jim (Freda) Musial; her brothers Ted (Barbara) Dudek and Frank (Diana) Dudek; and her loving sister Dorothy Mucha. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love. Joane was preceded in death by her parents John and Phyllis Dudek; her husband of 53 years, Joseph; her brothers John, Daniel, Stanley, Leonard, and Joseph; her beloved daughter Beverly Belback and son-in-law Tim Belback; as well as two grandchildren, Jennifer and Adam. Joane leaves behind a legacy of love and happiness that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will live on through the art she created, the warmth she shared so freely, and the countless lives she touched with kindness.
