" Joanne Marie Beck McClanahan was the only child born to Edla and Clarence Beck of Dearborn, MI on September 5, 1940.  She died peacefully on December 3, 2021 after a series of illnesses within the past year. Joanne grew up in Inkster, Michigan until her parents moved to Dearborn in 1957.  Joanne graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1958 and then attended Henry Ford Community College.

In May 1959, she married the late Joseph Vance McClanahan and they had four children:  Roxanne McClanahan, Deanna Traicoff (Mike), Derek McClanahan, and Carrie Gartner (Ken).  Joanne was preceded in death by her son, Derek, and daughter, Carrie.  Not only was she a loving mother, but became the loving grandmother to seven grandchildren:  Michael Traicoff (Amber), Brian Traicoff (Shelby) of Arizona, Kyle Traicoff (Janell), Nathan Gartner, Haley Gartner, Andrea Gartner, and Shawn Gartner.  She is also the loving great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren:  Michael, Jocelyn, Harper, Edla, and the soon-to-be, Lilah (due 12-21-21).

Joanne loved life and socializing with others.  She had a bright, sunny disposition and was friendly to all those that she met along life's path.  She enjoyed activities with her church, going to Bible studies, being involved with Single Point Ministries, involvement with the Swedish Club, attending plays, and going on various trips.  She gave of herself whenever she could to helping others.  Joanne was endlessly devoted to her family and was a loving, loyal friend to many.  She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. "
