BLONAR, John D. July 20, 2015, age 90 of Dearborn. Dear son of the late John and Nellie. Dear brother of the late Veronica Kostelnik & Elizabeth Latos. Loving uncle of a niece and nephews; loving great uncle of a grand niece and nephews. John Blonar served his country at Normandy in World War II in the United States Army honorably discharged at the rank of sargent. John began his employment at Michigan Bell now AT&T where he retired after 31 years of service as a communications engineer. For most of his career with At&T John was responsible for military communications installations in the upper peninsula and the east and west coasts of the state of Michigan. Upon retirement John remained active with the Amvets, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Church, and continued his life-long commitment to family and friends, as son, brother, uncle, great uncle and good friend. John Blonar will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him. John Blonar passed away peacefully in the privacy of his home in Dearborn, Michigan. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, September 18, 2015, 11:00 am at Divine Child Catholic Church, 1055 N. Silvery Lane, Dearborn, MI 48128.
