John Hanmer Chapman, 62, passed away on February 11, 2009 at Oakwood Hospital, after a short illness. John was a life-long resident of Dearborn and a descendant of one of the founding families of the city of Detroit. He attended Greenfield Village Primary School and graduated from Dearborn High School in 1964. He retired after 33 years of service from the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, former assistant professional at the Dearborn Country Club and past member of the Beaverdam Hunting and Fishing Club. He is survived by his brother Ralph L. Patricia of Oregon City, OR and Richard W. Elaine of Shelby, OH, his aunt Jean H. Pearson of Grosse Pointe Park, and many nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents Richard L. and Ruth H. Chapman and his uncle Morton C. Pearson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church, Dearborn, at l:00 P.M. at the corner of Military and Cherry Hill in Dearborn.
