John William Hovey, age 66, of Lincoln Park, MI, passed away on May 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents John Warren and June Marie Hovey, also his nephew/godson Aeron Mills. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane (Oleszkowicz) Hovey, his son Kevin (Ashley) Hovey, his daughter Rebecca Hovey, and his grandchildren Ethan Hovey and Paige McMahon. John is also survived by his sister Joan (Thomas) Kowalski, his twin brother Joseph (Cheryl) Hovey, his sister Janeen (Scott) Mills, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws,  as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. John will be remembered by his quiet demeanor, pleasant personality, memory of facts and details, interest in all sports, love of playing games, taking the "scenic route" in his travels and his more recent habit of keeping in touch through texting. His family meant everything to him. He was deeply religious and had the belief that things would always work out. John fought through many health issues for a long time and he is now resting pain free and at peace with Our Lord in paradise. He was very much loved and cherished and will be missed by all.

John will be in-state Saturday from 9:00am - until Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1540 Riverbank.
