A loving and faithful family man, John Edward Kilburg of Taylor passed on Thursday, July 28, 2022.  On September 1, 1940, John was born to Nicholas and Eleanor (Blankstein) in Detroit, MI.  John was the second oldest of five children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara (O'Donnell).

John is survived by his three brothers; Nick, Mike, and Bill, his sister, Kay Chamberlain, his five children; Stacie Marentette (Jerry), Colleen Campeau (George), John Kilburg (Angela), Dave Kilburg (Claudia), Dan Kilburg (Becka), his ten grandchildren; John Paul, Shea (Zoey), Brooke (Caleb), Zac (Mandi), Emily, Jagger, Chloe, Sammy, Emma and Trevor, and his three great grandchildren; Braxton, Hadleigh and baby Ryleigh. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from high school and serving in the United States Army, John worked for Ford Motor Company for 32 years. John loved basketball, baseball, golf and nature…. but above all, his greatest joy was family gatherings with his children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service for John will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Howe Peterson Funeral Home Taylor Chapel. (9800 Telegraph Road, Taylor, MI  48180). All are welcome.

We also have some time there from 10am -1pm to welcome and gather with friends and family, prior to the service, for anyone who wishes to join us.
