John Robert Loftis passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Beloved husband of Sharon for 53 happy years

Loving father of Larry (Jacinda) Loftis, Laura (Frank) Niemiec, Sallie Kuhne (Johnny Forbes).

Proud grandfather of Serina Loftis (Clinton Loh), Erin Loftis (Mollie Mills), Cameron Kuhne, Emily Loftis, Morgan (Jayden Bressler) Niemiec-Bressler, and Alex Niemiec.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Loftis, sister Betty McGlone, sister-in-law Vivian Joyner, and special son-in-law Justin Sylo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

John proudly served in the Navy as an FMF Hospital Corpsman. He was a life-long member of the Masons and Shriners, joining at the young age of 21 and remained very active. John was also a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite.

John was a proud graduate of Wayne State University. He was the Director of Patient Affairs and the Fiscal Administrator at Wayne County General Hospital.

Visitation will be at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Monday May 2, 2022 from 1:00 to 9:00PM. Masonic service at 7pm. Services will be held on Tuesday May 3, 2022 at 11:00am with Military Honors at Funeral Home.
