John Wayne Preston, Jr. was born September 17, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan to Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne , Sr. and Mary Jane Preston. He was one of four children. He spent all of his childhood and most of his adulthood in Detroit, Michigan, where he made lifelong friends. He later moved to Dearborn, Michigan where he resided until the time of his passing. Although John worked various jobs since the age of 15, he worked in the transportation field for over 20 years and most recently for C-Line Transportation for the last 8 years. John will be especially remembered for being a huge sports enthusiast. Although he found tremendous enjoyment of the typical sports, such as baseball, basketball and football, he was interested in all sports. He took all his Detroit/Michigan teams seriously. NEVER a fair weathered fan...ALWAYS the #1 supporter of all Detroit teams, to include and some might say, most importantly the Lions! Those who knew John knew that he could be quick witted, opinionated and fun loving. But most of all and most important, he had a huge heart. If ever in need, his friends and family knew they could count on him. John passed October 3, 2014. We know it is to a better place, but our hearts tell us it is too soon. His life added so much to ours. John was predeceased by his father, John Preston, Sr. and his sister, Karla Marie Hailey. He leaves behind to honor his memory his mother, Mary Preston; his children, Darnisha and Julian; his siblings, Stacey and Anthony; nieces and nephews, Racheal, Raymond, Ricco and Alexis; and a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Not to mention his extended Schoolcraft Family!
